Mark Barbet is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, and joined the Burke lab in the fall of 2016. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Prior to joining the Burke lab he held a variety of positions in research and industry. Between 2011 and 2013 he worked in the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory) group in the University of Florida physics department. During the summer of 2014 he worked at Rolls-Royce PLC in Indianapolis as a materials engineer, and in 2015 he worked at Boeing as a structural engineer on th Space Launch System (SLS) program in Huntsville.
